Because of the attack, U.S troops were sent to Afghanistan to hunt down Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda. Ten years has past since, and although they killed Bin Laden, the troops are still on the ground fighting against different “enemies”. The timing wasn’t quite ideal because the week fell over Eid, a Muslim holiday marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Most of the Afghan army soldiers and police officers were taking a break... no comments  Two major suicide attacks happened within a week. One at the provincial governor’s compound in Parwan province, about 50km north of Kabul, and another one at the British Council here in the capital. Both attacks were carried out by a team of several suicide bombers. Twenty in Parwan and ten in Kabul were killed.... no comments |
