Joe Well, Kuni in Africa things like this do happen and you need to be equally wary of checked-in luggage in India. $1200 is a lot of money…and I suppose the folk who stole the lens won’t even know the value, such a pity.

Kuni Takahashi Well said…It’s a photographer’s dilemma how we carry our equipment for traveling. Obviously, we can’t carry “everything” as carry-on. Some equipment have to be checked in. There are some useful responses in lightstalers if you are interested in –
