News: Coal Production In India Set To Double In Next Four Years

People, who were relocated from their villages by the government, live in Belgaria Township in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India on Dec 6, 2014. Claiming that underground burning coal seams threaten the homes of villagers, the government has relocated over 50,000 people over the last several years. The villagers, the majority who are day laborers, having great difficulties to find jobs and livelihoods in the remotely located township.
